Finishing Touches on a Hand Sewn Bookmark
There’s something really grounding about stitching. In this video, I’m finishing up a hand sewn bookmark, one of those quiet little projects that reminds me why I love making things in the first place. No rush, no pressure, just the simple joy of creating something from start to finish.
Just finishing up a hand sewn bookmark with slow stitching, soft fabric, and a little quiet time at the end of a project. These kinds of moments are my favorite.
The entire design is hand embroidered by me, then carefully stitched onto a layer of soft wool felt for structure. I add a second layer of felt to the back, using a mattress stitch to join them neatly, it's one of those small details that gives it a clean, finished look without visible seams. To top it off (literally), I tie on a little wool tassel using Eco Vita thread by DMC, which is 100% wool and naturally dyed. The process is slow and thoughtful, and each bookmark feels like a little stitched story in your hands.
